A couple of the biggest questions we get are:
- What are the differences between cotton and polyester printing?
- What are the advantages of each?
Cotton is great because it is soft and natural, ideal for infant/toddler/kids’ clothing. The clothing you see in stores for the little ones are most likely cotton. However, have you noticed that many solid colours and pattern prints are never all that vibrant? That is because printing on basic combed cotton will result in muted colours due to the nature of the fabric.
With polyester, most of the fabrics can allow that vividness in the print, with the exception of poly-Georgette (or sheerer materials). This is why some athletic wear designs are eye-popping — they take advantage of the benefits of dye-sublimation printing on polyester material. Also, the wider range of the colours gamut means that colour-matching is easier compared to cotton printing.
In the end, it depends on the applications of what you want to print on. Let us help you with your decision!
